In Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district, as per a news report, a BJP activist, Rakesh Chandra Gupta, claimed that the land around the Muslim graveyard belongs to his trust- Bhagwan Shri Thakur Ji Maharaj Trust, of which he is the trustee. On the 8th of January 2022, a resident of Mirzapur mohalla, Mohammad Yameen, died of natural causes. His family had taken him to bury in the graveyard where Gupta had denied them bury the deceased, saying that the land belonged to his trust as reported into Newsclick, Shoaib Alam, member of the graveyard committee, that the claims made by Gupta are entirely baseless. And despite there being no evidence that the land belongs to Gupta or his trust, Police had supported him and asked us to bury the deceased somewhere else in the burial ground, added Alam.
