Muslim leaders are called terrorists

During a four-day Hindu Conclave held in Kerala last month, the speakers had called former Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari and late Union minister E Ahamed “terrorists.” Hamid Ansari was called “the father of all terror groups in India,” while E Ahamed was described as a “terrorist supporter” and “part of the ‘terrorist ecosystem’.” The hate speeches against the two top officials of the country were a part of a debate in the Hindu Conclave where RVS Mani, former under secretary (Internal Security) in the Union home ministry was the chief guest. Ahamed who served as Minister of State for External Affairs twice in the Manmohan Singh governments (2004–14), was the National President of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML). He died on 1 February 2017. “You did mention somewhere… about the Popular Front of India, the SDPI, the earlier avatar of SIMI. There was one politician behind it. Who was the father of all these terror groups? Can you name him?” asked the moderator of the session. He was asking the question to RVS Mani. While answering, Mani alleged that “due to intervention of the Vice President of India,” no action was taken against PFI in connection with the assault on Kerala professor T. J. Joseph. Mani also talked about a dinner hosted by former Union Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar for Ex-Pakistan External Affairs Minister Khurshid Kasuri in 2017. Former prime minister Manmohan Singh, former Vice-President Ansari, and many former senior diplomats were also there. In their 2017 Gujarat poll campaign rallies, Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah alleged Pakistan’s interference in the Gujarat elections while talking about this “clandestine meeting.” Mani echoed the same allegations. The program was on 29 May, the third day of the Hindu Conclave. Provocative and hate speeches against Muslims were made at the 10th Ananthapuri Hindu Maha Sammelan (Kerala Hindu conclave) in Kerala’s capital city Thiruvananthapuram, where Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan delivered inaugural address. The speakers called upon the Hindu community to boycott Muslim businesses. Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, who directed “The Kashmir Files,” was the chief guest at the event, which has former Mizoram Governor and BJP leader Kummanam Rajesekharan as the patron. Union minister V Muraleedharan, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leaders J Nandakumar and Valsan Thillankeri, Vishva Hindu Parishad state president Viji Thampi, ex-MLA PC George were speaking in various sessions at the event. During his speech, former MLA PC George had said that the Muslim traders were deliberately mixing infertility drugs in the drinks, that Muslims were trying to increase their population and turn India into a Muslim country, and that Muslim clerics were distributing food after spitting it out three times. Muslims set up businesses in non-Muslim areas, thereby draining money off other communities, said George. He was speaking about Muslim businessman M. A. Yusuff Ali’s Lulu Mall in “Hindu dominated region” Thiruvananthapuram. With a total built up area of 2,000,000 sq ft (190,000 m),it is one of the largest malls in India. PC George was arrested in connection with the hate speech and was granted bail a day after his arrest.
