Ramya attacked with eggs at Mangalore airport

BJP yuva morcha workers staged a protest, hurled eggs and waved black flags as the car carrying actor Ramya came out of the Mangalore International Airport at Bajpe on August 25. The police detained 15 BJP Yuva Morcha workers. The actor-turned-politician had come here to participate in a musical event. Subsequent to her controversial remark that ‘Pakistan is not hell,’ she is said to have told a section of the media that ‘there may be hell in Mangaluru too.’ The protesters were bundled into a police van and were released later. As a precautionary measure, a strong contingent of police personel led by DCP (Law and Order) Shantharaju was deployed in and around the airport. – Deccan Herald, 26.8.2016
