There seems to be no end to crimes against women in Uttar Pradesh. In a fresh incident, a girl from Bareilly district was gang-raped at a woman politician's house in Meerut district. Meanwhile, a case has been filed against the accused woman, a BJP leader, her son and brother-in-law at Pallavpuram police station in Meerut. The Circle Officer has been asked to conduct the probe into the case. Meanwhile, the woman leader has cried foul and alleged a conspiracy against her, according to a report in Hindi daily Hindustan. The report further suggests that the victim is associated with the BJP. The girl got in touch with a woman party leader from Dulhera village in Pallavpuram.
The rape survivor said she came to the woman's place on July 15 where she was offered a cold drink laced with sedatives. She alleged that she was gang-raped by the woman leader's son and brother-in-law. The victim also alleged that the accused also made an obscene video of her by threatening her at gunpoint. The accused also threatened her to upload the video online if she approached police. According to a report by Hindi Daily Hindustan, the Rashtriya Yuva Hindu Vahini leader Meenakshi Chauhan had denied the allegations and called it a conspiracy against her. As per a report by Wire, the survivor alleged that when she informed about the crime to Chauhan, she replied, “Koi baat nahin, 100 gaiyon ka daan ho gaya” (Don’t worry, this is the equivalent of donating 100 cows).
The woman has been sent for medical examination. The victim has now shared some photos of the two accused with police. In the photos, the accused could be seen holding guns.
Police said they are probing the matter. "The woman has given a complaint and levelled serious allegations. We have filed a case and sent the girl for medical examination. Her statement will be recorded. The accused haven't been arrested yet," said Vineet Bhatnagar, SP City, Meerut.
