1 Mar 2020 Jhajjar: 20-odd Muslim families living in Isharhedi village of Jhajjar district on Delhi-Haryana border are gripped in intense fear after a mob entered forcefully into the house and asked community members to vacate the area before Holi or be ready to face consequences.
According to TOI, An FIR had been lodged at Bahadurgarh police station, the complainant has told that 60-70 people belonging to 20-35 age group came to the colony on February 29 and asked them to vacate their houses before Holi or face consequences for not doing so.
None of the family members have gone to work, fearing backlash from the youths. Another member of the community who works as mason and has been residing in the area for last 10 years, said he was originally from Bihar but had moved here to earn his livelihood.
A carpenter belonging to the area told TOI that they are living in fear after the incident. “He told the minor members from our families are sent to other places like Delhi. The board examinations of children within the family are about to start, and they fear that they might miss the exams due to the situation.” he added.
