The appointment of Asst. Prof. Feroz Khan in the faculty of Sanskrit Vidya Dharm Vigyan at BHU had give rise to protests by the students in the varsity. Rizavana Tabassum, as a freelance journalist, had gone to cover the protests. The protesting students were raising slogans against Muslims and Feroz Khan. She wanted to talk to the students. Therefore she said to one of the students, "I am Rizavana Tabassum. I am a freelance journalist. I am covering the story for The Quint. Therefore I want to talk to you." The student didn't respond. After some time, a security guard who was present there came to me and said while pointing towards the protesting students, "These students have told me to ask you to leave. Please leave from here we don't want any problem here." While talking to the students Rizavana was looking at the students. They were calling Muslims "Katua". Rizavana claims that she was in hijab. She also claims that she was verbally abused using terms like "Miyan". She had to return without any report.
