Gurgaon man assaulted by cow vigilantes

On 31st July 2020, a man named Lukman was alleged to be smuggling cow meat by cow vigilantes. These vigilantes tracked and followed Lukman for 8 km and then pulled him out of his van and he was brutally assaulted. They were even using a hammer to beat him up. During the occurrence of the incident, the police were present but they didn't take any action to either stop the assault or apprehend the perpetrators. After that, he was bundled up in a pick-up truck and taken to Gurgaon's Badshahpur village. There these men started thrashing Lukman again and during this time police intervened but they were attacked back. The police have apprehended Pradeep Yadav who was one of the assailants and they have also lodged an FIR against unidentified assailants.
